Week-end in Paris
Carolina and I spent the last week-end of May in Paris – just wanted to spend a few days together before the baby comes. Carolina had read a good review of the “New Orient Hotel” in the New York Times, and so we decided to stay there. The hotel is small and quite well situated, the staff is amiable and it is overall quite a good value for money in Paris.We had quite a bit of fun and walked as much as Carolina´s round belly would allow! We strolled along the river Seine at night, visited the museum Rodin (impressive!), went to the movies (if you haven’t already, you should see the latest movie from Almodovar: “Volver”, it is very good) and to the theatre (we saw “Cyrano de Bergerac“, at La Comedie Française, liked it very much, laughed wholeheartedly and highly recommend it), had wonderfull food at l’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (I would further qualify the food as surprising, a mix of traditional and trendy, very good indeed, but perhaps not the best value for money), listened to music (a classic concerto in the Place des Vosges, Jazz for brunch, and Chinese music… in the metro, station de l’Opéra!) and pretty much managed to stay away from commercial stores!

Ademas de rumbera, glotona!
En mi humilde opinión, la mejor parte del embarazo, de lejos, es el sentir a la personita que esta adentro tuyo moverse, que a mi me da una sensación de felicidad y alegría muy bonita. Es por eso que estoy encantada de que tengamos una bebé que se mueve todo el tiempo! Asi es, nuestra bebé es una bebé rumbera! Y es que hay parranda a cada rato en mi barriga, de día, de noche, en el trabajo o cuando estoy descansando. Y mi barriga, vista de fuera, se mueve al mismo compás.
Es alucinante tener tanta vida dentro! Y los movimientos (o pasos de baile?) son muy variados, pataditas (que pueden ser puñitos también, todavía no los se reconocer), cambios de posición y algunos que no tengo idea de que son, pero de que se mueve, se mueve! Desde hace algunas semanas hay un movimiento nuevo, intermitente , un “pum, pum, pum, pum” como patadas suavecitas constantes y rítmicas. Pues no son pataditas… es que a la bebé le da hipo! Asi es, parece que a los bebés en el vientre les da hipo, porque aunque no respiran, si tragan líquido amniótico, como lo pudimos constatar en la ecografía morfológica en donde vimos a la bebé abrir y cerrar la boquita como si tomara algo. Asi pues parece que además de rumbera es glotona! Ya se esta pareciendo a sus papas

Barcelona wins European Champions League… the hard way: two late goals clinch Champions title over Arsenal !
Samuel Eto’o and Juliano Belletti scored two goals in six minutes to help FC Barcelona beat Arsenal 2-1 to win the Champions League.Eto’o equalized for Barcelona in the 76th minute, and Belletti scored the winner in the 81st to give Barcelona its second European Cup title. Incredible !

I stumbled on to the web site of Greg Apodaca today. He showcases work he has done for design studios, manipulating photoshop images to make a person look better or younger. 27 weeks and going…
Carolina is now into her 27th week of pregnancy. She is doing pretty well ! This afternoon, we decided to take some pictures just for kicks. Here are the three we liked best, hope you enjoy them:

Feliz cumpleaños Amparo!
Hoy cumple años Amparo (mi mami y la suegra de Pablo). Llena de energía y alegría. Que cumpla muchos mas tan linda y buena como siempre. Desde aquí le mandamos muchos besos.

El verano llega a Bruselas y con él llega la bebé rumbera
Por fin un poquito de calorcito en Bruselas. Qué falta nos hacía! Eso si, espero que la temperatura no suba demasiado en los próximos meses -o por lo menos no a la misma velocidad que crece mi barriga! Que grande mi barriga… y es que ahora solamente tocándola podemos reconocer enseguida dónde esta la bebé! y cómo se mueve! Es increíble cómo responde cuando Pablo juega con ella. Pablo le habla, le dice “bonjour la bébé” y pone su mano en mi barriga. La bebé pega una patadita y Pablo oprime suavemente mi barriga, una, dos, tres veces. Esperamos dos o tres segundos y oh! patadita de vuelta. Luego Pablo le sigue hablando y oprime en otro sitio de mi barriga, e increíblemente, sentimos un movimineto hacia ese sitio. Asi seguimos un rato, y no falla ni una vez. Increíble. También cada noche, cuando le pongo música, tampoco falla: la bebé se comienza a mover inmediatamente y hacia el lugar donde le he puesto los parlantes. Me parece que la bébé va a ser bastante bailarina y rumbera, como su mamá
